There are outdoor sanctuaries in my life where I feel most at home with myself. The ocean is one of them. When I walk beside the water, its rhythm settles something deep within me and my wise inner voice rises with ease. The forest is another. There is an ancient tree I often sit beneath, its quiet strength grounding me in ways words cannot touch. And when I cycle through the hills near my home, surrounded by open sky and the contour of the land, I feel a spaciousness that clears my mind and opens my heart with a love that feels deeply true.
In these places I do not have to search for peace. I return to it.
Mother Earth meets me as I am, and in her presence I hear what I could not hear in the noise of everyday life. Her stillness reveals my own. Her beauty softens me. Her quiet holds me with a tenderness that asks nothing in return.
“Mother Earth, I Thank You” arose from this lifelong relationship. It is a song of gratitude, not for dramatic moments, but for the quiet, faithful support she has offered me for as long as I can remember. She has held me through change, reflection, joy, and awakening. She continues to welcome me without expectation and guide me gently back to myself.
When you listen to “Mother Earth, I Thank You,” may you feel something of your own connection with the natural world. May you sense steadiness beneath your feet. May you remember the quiet companionship nature offers each of us each day. And may you trust that time spent in these beautiful environments can be a refuge, a place where your heart can breathe again, and peace finds its home.
I encourage every woman to seek out her own places of solace in the natural world. A shoreline. A tree. A garden. A hill with open sky. These places have a way of restoring what life sometimes scatters. They remind us of our strength, our softness, and the peace that lives within.
