I’d been carrying a tension inside me that I couldn’t seem to shake.
My energy felt unsettled, as I was trying to be in two places at once: at work and in my creativity.
I had taken a new job with the intention of creating more space in my life—space for writing, music, expression—but I found myself slipping back into the same old patterns.
Overthinking. Overworking. Spiraling in ways that didn’t belong to me anymore.
Each time I tried to meditate, my mind pulled me straight back into work.
I felt restless, distracted, not enough, not in control.
And underneath that was a quiet frustration with myself, because I knew better. I could see I was using stress as a shield, an excuse not to create, even though my heart was asking for the opposite.
At first, I tried to write a meditative song to bring myself back into balance.
But every version felt flat and uninspired.
Then something inside me whispered:
“Move. Don’t sit in it. Dance through it.”
So I stopped trying to make a meditation and instead created something my body could open to. A dance. A pulse. Something that would shift energy, not just thoughts.
And suddenly, it clicked.
The moment the song fell into place, I felt clarity and an immense lightness rising in my chest. All I wanted to do was move. To thank myself. To let my heart take over. That’s why the line “thank you mind for caring” lives in the song. I finally felt gratitude for my mind instead of fighting it.
I went to find Mum with the song playing through the speakers, and we just danced.
Pure joy. The kind that bubbles up unexpectedly and reminds you you’re alive.
She saw it in me instantly—laughing, smiling, matching my energy.
It was a moment of remembering. A moment of coming home.
To me, The Heart Room is a sanctuary: a doorway inside myself where I can close out the noise of the world and return to joy, peace, and love.
It’s my reset button.
My warm light.
My way home.
And now, I offer this song to you knowing:
That you can shake off the day or the energy you’re carrying.
That resetting can be as simple as one breath, one movement, one moment of letting the body lead.
We just need to return to our heart room.
A Heart Room Ritual For You
If you’d like to step into your own Heart Room, here is the simple practice that helped me return to myself:
Put down your phone.
Take a slow breath in.
Place one hand on your chest and the other on your belly.
Whisper softly:
“I’ve given enough energy to the day. I choose now to return to my heart.”
Exhale through your mouth with an audible sigh.
Feel the static loosening from your chest.
Let your body move a little, even if it’s just a gentle sway or a slow roll of your shoulders.
This tells your system:
“The day is shifting now.”
Then press play on The Heart Room.
Let the rhythm invite you inward.
Let your body respond in its own way — small movements, a stretch, a dance, anything that feels like release.
If your thoughts drift back to work or old energy, you can greet them with:
“Thank you for trying to take care of me. But right now, I’m in the Heart Room.”
This is your reset.
Your soft return.
Your way back to lightness again.
